Pediatric Anesthesia
As sub-specialty trained pediatric anesthesiologists, members of our Pediatric Division provide care tailored to the special needs of each child. Each of the physicians of this division has advanced training in pediatric anesthesiology, and offers state of the art anesthesia care. Also, the Pediatric Anesthesia Division offers postoperative pain control by utilizing single-shot and neuraxial catheters that can provide pain relief for several days after surgery.
The scope of our responsibilities, however, goes beyond the operating room. We offer children and their parents a pleasant preoperative tour to familiarize them with the surgical experience before their surgery date. We have a dedicated Pediatric Pain Service that provides 24-hour-per-day pain management that minimizes your child’s postoperative pain. This neuraxial type of postoperative pain control can prevent serious post-surgical pain for several days. Our physicians also participate in the care of children who require Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), Computed Tomography (CT scan) studies, Gastrointestinal (GI) procedures, and other out-of-OR procedures in which we are asked to participate.
